Stainless Steel Backsplash Frequently Asked Questions
Can you use stainless steel as a backsplash? Absolutely. Stainless is one of the best options to use for your range backsplash. We recommend stainless because the finish cannot be damaged. There is no way to permanently damage the backsplash. Grease, high temperatures from the stovetop, you name it...there is no way to damage our high quality stainless.
Is a stainless steel backsplash hard to clean? Stainless steel backsplashes are extremely easy to clean and take care of. Since stainless steel is heat, chemical, and splatter proof, there is no way to damage the backsplash. You can clean high quality stainless with just a soapy sponge. Also, you may use soap and water on a paper towel or cloth.
Does heat negatively effect a stainless steel backsplash? No chance. With high quality steel, there is no way you can damage the back splash while you are cooking in the kitchen. The metal alloys are extremely resistant to heat and therefore will never be effected negatively.
How do you install stainless steel backsplash to the wall? You can install a stainless backsplash in different ways. If the stainless is not more than 50 pounds, you may simply use silicone adhesive for installation. Apply a thick bead of silicone around the perimeter of the stainless and then a zig zag bead to fill in the remaining surface area. If you are installing a heavy stainless steel backsplash, it is recommended that you use screws to mount the piece. Screw each corner of the backsplash to the nearest wall studs. You may seal the edge with silicone for a clean and professional look. For more installation tips please contact Havens Metal directly, as every project is different.
